Volleyball Celebrates Six Seniors on Saturday Afternoon against Miami (OH)

Central Michigan Volleyball dropped a four-set match to Miami (OH) on Saturday afternoon where the team also celebrated their six graduating seniors.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Natalia Rejment, Abby Olin, Alina Anderson, Ella Peter, Maddy Gebhardt and Brooklyn Conner got their flowers in McGuirk Arena on Saturday afternoon as the team celebrated senior night.
The six were celebrated post-game in a ceremony to thank them for their time as a Chippewa, their commitment to the program and sacrifices made in their time as student-athletes.
Ella Peter made her first career start as a Chippewa in the match against Miami (OH) and charted seven kills hitting .700. Peter also assisted on two blocks for an eight-point night.
The Chippewas dropped the match to Miami (OH) 1-3 in McGuirk Arena after winning the first set 25-22. The RedHawks took victories in the next three sets, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-20.
Maddy Gebhardt, who has missed most of the season due to injury served a ceremonial first serve where she was then greeted by her teammates and left the court with a standing ovation.
Natalia Rejment charted another double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs. Rejment charted two blocks as well.
Taylor Cripe, the freshman outside tallied 10 kills and 17 digs, her second straight double-double of the series with the RedHawks.
Abby Olin, a senior from Coopersville, Michigan charted eight kills with two blocks. Brooklyn Conner killed seven balls and charted four blocks.
On the defensive side, Alina Anderson recorded seven digs and two assits for the Chippewas.
Central Michigan will close out the season with a road trip to Ball State to take on the Cardinals, who just clinched the regular season title on Friday night. The two matches are set for the 13th and 14th of November, both starting a 6 p.m.
