Alvarado-Reid earns third MAC weekly honor of season
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Luciana Alvarado-Reid of Central Michigan Gymnastics has earned Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week honors for the third time this season, the league announced on Tuesday.
From Cartago, Costa Rica, Alvarado-Reid earned the award for the first time in 2025 on Jan. 14 after her performance against West Virginia and again on Jan. 28 after the Chippewas defeated Bowling Green and Southeastern Missouri State.
The junior earned her third and fourth all-around title of the season on Thursday and Sunday, contributing 39.225 and 39.275 scores, respectively. Her 39.275 ties her season-high and is currently the highest all-around score in the league in the 2025 season.
Alvarado-Reid scored a season-high 9.900 on the uneven bars for an event win and a 9.850 floor exercise score in CMU's tri-meet victory over UW-Oshkosh and SEMO.
She is ranked second in the MAC in the all-around and ranked 60th nationally with an average of 39.000.
CMU is slated to host MAC foe Eastern Michigan on Friday, Feb. 14 (6 p.m.).
