Softball Ends Series with Ohio with a Loss

The Chippewas fell to the Bobcats at Margo Jonker Stadium in game three of the Mid-American Conference Series.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – CMU dropped the final game of the series with Ohio on Sunday afternoon, 6-0 at Margo Jonker Stadium
The Chippewas fall to 24-22 in the 2025 season, 16-6 in MAC play, while Ohio advances to 33-14 and 16-5. Ohio maintains the number one spot in the conference after taking the series victory over CMU.
Central Michigan took game two of the double header on Saturday, 7-2.
Ohio struck first in the top of the first with a lead-off single, and that runner scored on a throwing error from the Chippewas. Then, an RBI double scored the runner who reached on a bunt. A sacrifice fly then scored the Bobcats third run of the inning.
Mackenzie Langan entered in relief to start the second inning and threw to the next 25 batters. Langan struck out five in her 6.0 innings of work.
Ohio tallied another run in the sixth inning with a sacrifice to left field that scored a runner on third. A two-run home run in the top of the seventh brought Ohio to their 6-0 total over the Chippewas.
CMU recorded four hits on the day, one from Carly Sleeman, London Williams, Jenna Kuzara and Grace Koenig.
Madelyn Wallace faced the final out of the game for the Chippewas.
Brooklyn Compau, who took the start moves to 7-9 on the season after issuing the first three runs of the game.
CMU is still in the hunt for the regular season title, and will next host Detroit Mercy at Margo Jonker Stadium on Wednesday, April 30th at 3 p.m.
