Chippewas Chart Eight Hits in Mid-Week Loss to Michigan

Michigan scored five runs in the first two innings to collect the non-conference win over Central Michigan.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – London Williams and Allyssa Hollo both charted two hits in the loss to Michigan on Wednesday night, and Central Michigan Softball recorded their 18th game of the season with 8+ hits.
CMU moves to 16-18 overall while Michigan advances to 28-12.
The final 2-6 score in favor of the Wolverines came after five runs in the first two innings.
Central Michigan recorded runs in the second and seventh innings, with a sacrifice fly to left field from Keira Tolmie to score Hollo, and Emma Lotus reached on a fielder's choice to score Ashley Bila who reached on a pinch-hit opportunity.
Michigan scored with an RBI single in the first and again in a first and third situation for the Chippewa defense. In the second inning, the Wolverine's pitcher hit a three-run home run to help her own cause, and the final run came on an RBI triple in the fourth.
Brooklyn Compau took the start for CMU, lasting 1.1 innings, allowing five runs on six hits. Cierra Laska entered in relief in the second inning to face the next twelve batters, striking out two. Mackenzie Langan closed the game for CMU and threw two innings allowing just one hit with two strikeouts herself.
The Chippewas will entertain MAC opponent Kent State for three games on April 11th and 12th at Margo Jonker. The weekend is slated to hold a single game at 3 p.m. on Friday with a double header at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
