Lexi Funk joined the Central Michigan gymnastics coaching staff in September, 2022.

Funk served as a volunteer assistant at Michigan from 2021-22, was an All-American on balance beam in 2019, a three-time All-Big Ten honoree, and helped lead the Wolverines to three Big Ten Championships and four consecutive league regular season titles.

Funk teamed with associate head coach Scott Sherman and fellow assistant Maile'ana Kanewa-Hermelyn in earning the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association Assistant Coaches of the Year Award in 2021 as the Wolverines won their first national title. The trio earned the Regional Assistant Coach of the Year Award in 2022.

Funk served as a team captain during her final two seasons as a Wolverine, was a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and was named a WCGA Scholastic All-American. She holds two bachelor of arts degrees from Michigan with majors in communication and media studies and Spanish.
