Marshall Eeks Out Overtime Win, 53-49

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - Central Michigan University lost a Mid-American Conference women's basketball game in overtime here Saturday afternoon, 53-49.
The Chippewas fall to 8-11 for the season and 2-6 in MAC action while the Thundering Herd is now 6-12 overall and 2-5 in the league.
Casey Manning forced overtime with a driving layup for CMU with just three seconds to play, knotting the contest at 41-41.
The Chippewas went nearly 11 minutes late in the second half without a basket. However, CMU meshed 11 free throws over that stretch to stay in the game.
The Chippewas were plagued by ice cold shooting, hitting just 13-of-51 shots from the field for 25.5 percent. MU was 18-of-52 for 34.6 percent. The Thundering Herd held a lopsided edge in rebounding, 49-27.
Desiree Eidson was the lone Chippewa in twin figures with 15 while Erin Kuhl had nine. Game-scoring honors went to Marshall's Sikeetha Shepard-Hall with 27 points. Amy Reed added 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners.
The Chippewas return home on Wednesday night to play Bowling Green. Tipoff is Rose Arena will be 7 p.m.
