
Chippewas Second In San Jose Quad

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Central Michigan gymnastics team placed second in a nonconference quad meet at San Jose State on Sunday.
The host Spartans won the meet with a 195.050 score. CMU posted a 194.625, followed by Air Force (194.500) and Seattle Pacific (193.225).
VAULT
Bryttany Kaplan recorded a 9.800 to lead CMU on the vault, tying for fourth place. San Jose State's Taylor Chan took first place with a 9.875. CMU's Kennedy Rae Johnson tied her career high (9.775).
UNEVEN BARS
Gianna Plaksa and Bryttany Kaplan shared the team-lead for the Chippewas, each recording a 9.825. They tied for third place. Anne Salmone of Air Force posted a 9.900 to win the event.
BEAM
Katy Clements dominated the competition on the beam, leading all gymnasts with a 9.9. Miranda Wieczorek and Skyler Memmel each recorded a 9.8 for CMU.
FLOOR
Clements tied San Jose State's Ellie Pascoe-Long to place second on the floor (9.875). Chippewa sophomore Mackenzie Parker recorded a 9.725 for her first time competing in the event.
ALL-AROUND
CMU's Gianna Plaksa placed first for all-around with a 39.050.
NEXT
The Chippewas go to Ohio State for a nonconference tri-meet with the Buckeyes and North Carolina State on Sunday, March 11.
