Field Hockey Drops 3-2 Decision to Michigan State

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team dropped a 3-2 nonconference decision on Wednesday to Michigan State at Cristy Freese Field.
With two games left on the schedule, CMU is 2-14.
Kate Biglin scored both of CMU's goals unassisted, the first in the first quarter for a 1-0 lead and again in the third quarter to tie the game, 2-2.
Michigan State (8-7) went ahead for good on a penalty corner early in the fourth quarter.
The Chippewas trailed, 14-8, in shots on goal and 8-4 in penalty corners.
Biglin led CMU with four shots on goal and Kaitlyn Bowker finished with two. Freshman Maja Halasz went the distance in goal and made 11 saves for the Chippewas.
The Chippewas, who are 0-5 in the Mid-American Conference, are scheduled to play host to MAC opponents Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Oct. 21 (3 p.m.) and Longwood on Sunday, Oct. 29 (11 a.m.) at Cristy Freese Field.
