Hankey came within a half-second of a sub-60 second performance in the event to accompany her sixth-place javelin performance from Thursday afternoon. Emma Francis joined Hankey in scoring for the event with a fifth-place finish in a personal-best 1:01.78, improving two places from her qualifying run on Thursday.
Â
Less than two feet from a medal, Aliyah Boeve checked in a 45.83-meter discus in Saturday's opening event for fourth joining Hankey and Mohogany Wells (hammer) for three points-paying performances from the throwers this week in Akron.
Â
Another repeat scorer for the week, Hayley Manners bounded for a 12.21-meter output in the triple jump for fifth. Manners collected a bronze medal in Friday's long jump.
