CMU Women Fall at Bowling Green, 63-45

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Plagued by cold shooting, the Central Michigan University women's basketball team dropped a 63-45 Mid-American Conference decision to Bowling Green State University here Saturday afternoon.
The Chippewas fall to 7-8 for the season, 1-3 in MAC action while the Falcons up their record to 9-6 overall and 2-2 in league play.
CMU trailed by a 28-22 margin at the half but BGSU pulled away in the final half for the victory.
CMU shot just 32 percent on 16-of-50 from the field compared to the Falcons' 39.2 percent on 20-of-51.
The Chippewas jumped out to an 8-2 lead but BG raced back to cop a 14-8 advantage with 15:00 to go in the first half. The Falcons closed with a 9-2 run to grab the six-point halftime edge.
CMU scored just eight points in the first 10 minutes of the second half as BG took control.
Desiree Eidson led the Chippewas with 15 points while BG had Lindsay Austin with 17 and Francine Miller with 16.
CMU did hold a 35-34 edge in rebounding behind nine from Casey Manning. However, the Chippewas also turned the ball over 24 times to the Falcons' 17.
The Chippewas return to action on Monday night at home when Western Michigan comes to Rose Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
