Field Hockey Falls To No. 1 Iowa

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team fell, 4-0, on Sunday to No. 1-ranked Iowa at Cristy Freese Field.
The Chippewas are 3-9 and are scheduled to return to Mid-American Conference play on Friday, Oct. 15 (1 p.m.) when they entertain Ohio.
Iowa (14-0) was the latest in a number of ranked teams the Chippewas have faced this season.
The Hawkeyes scored one goal in each quarter and finished with a 19-0 advantage in shots, nine of which were on goal. The Hawkeyes also had five penalty corners to the Chippewas' none.
Katie Maxim, the sophomore goalkeeper for the Chippewas, recorded five saves.
